The carcass is built in solid wood, with doors and pilasters carved and gilded by hand. The motifs follow Rococo scrollwork, so the gold lines rise and fall like water when light passes over them.
The top is Italian sintered stone, heat- and scratch-resistant, and will take a hot dish straight from the stove. Inside, three adjustable shelves and two deep drawers give tableware and glassware each their place.
The gilding is gold water applied along the edges and sealed under a protective lacquer; it will not fade or darken, and a neutral cleaner is all it asks.
